Key Issues:

* Strong families make strong communities.

* We need a wide variety of housing solutions to meet the needs of Wooster's citizens.

* Economic growth is critical. If we aren't growing, we are dying.

* Our downtown business community helps make Wooster unique and exciting. The more we can do to help our businesses, the more they are able to give back by hiring employees, donating to our schools, and investing in site improvements.

* Maintaining a reasonable cost of living is critical including the tax burden we are asking our citizens to bear. Seniors in particular are hit hard by increases.

* Strong public-private partnerships are the key to adding value for our citizens without increasing costs. We should continue finding creative ways to partner with groups like Wooster Rotary, the Exchange Club, our church community, and other service groups, to beautify our city and provide events and attractions that draw others to visit Wooster.

Important Questions:

* How do we balance the needs of the community if they greatly impact some individuals?

* How do we make sure we have adequate, affordable housing for our residents, in a way that encourages responsible caretaking of private property?

* How can we continue attracting new people and businesses without losing the small-town, family-friendly character that attracts people here in the first place?

* How do we encourage landlords to keep properties safe and looking nice both for those who rent them and for the benefit of the neighborhood?

* How do we keep taxes low while providing excellent services?

* How do we steward our greenspaces in a way that will preserve and protect them for years to come?

The answers to these questions require thoughtful, collaborative approaches. I am ready to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives to find creative solutions!
